NEW feature: document management
OneIS now includes document management features. OneIS keeps track of all the changes to files and who made them, lets users make notes on what has changed, and provides a check out and publishing system. All aimed at making it easier to work collaboratively with colleagues.
Coming soon… Contact relationship management
So many of the small businesses we’ve visited in the last few months have told us about the difficulties they have managing information about all the people they collectively know. The most frequently requested Client Relationship Management features are an easy to use shared contacts directory and a simple way of recording when any team member has contact with a client. We’ve also talked about improving client communication, making it easy to analyse a client base, and tools to track enquiries from clients.
We’ve got some great ideas on how to incorporate these features into OneIS and plan to have these available in the next few months. We’re deliberately calling these Contact relationship management, rather than Client relationship management tools, recognising the importance of an organisation’s relationships with its suppliers, associates and friends as well as it’s clients.
Useful URLs
Every item in OneIS has a unique, permanent and readable URL. Whether the record of a book, person or a document, this feature makes it easy to send links to items to colleagues and enables users to embed links to items into intranet pages. Tim Berners-Lee, the inventor of the web, wrote about this 10 years ago. It’s a tiny detail, but one which can make a big difference.
Beta tester update
Our fantastic beta testers are putting OneIS through it’s paces, managing tens of thousands of pieces of information. OneIS has proved itself easy to use and fast to find the information they need, wherever they are in the world. We’re looking forward to working with them over the next couple of months to refine our new CRM features.
